Opus is the annual spiritual retreat of the Continental Unitarian Universalist Young Adult Network. We are an intentional community of seekers exploring liberal religion, social justice and diversity.  At OPUS, we will explore and honor the cycles, revolutions, and interdependent connections that are important to our lives, communities, and planet. We want to share a respectful, transparent environment where everyone between 18 and 35 years old are welcomed and encouraged to participate. We especially want to welcome otherwise abled persons and will accommodate their needs as best we can. We believe that both the community experience is crucial to Opus as well as personal reflective time, and will do our best to provide time for both.

Hey UU youth and adult allies!!!

The time is now to apply to be on General Assembly Youth Caucus Staff for 2007! You might wonder, "what's General Assembly?" Well, my friend, General Assembly is the annual meeting of all the Unitarian Universalist congregations that happens in late June every year. For next summer, it is going to be in Portland, Oregon, USA June 20-24, 2007. It's super cool!

Want to go to General Assembly next year, with all expenses paid???

Want to help the business of GA's Youth Caucus run smoothly???

The applications for all positions (except HUUPER/ youth dean) are due on September 22nd. You can download the application at http://uua.org/YRUU/events/pdfs/GAStaffApp2007.pdf , which also has descriptions of all the staff positions. If you have any questions, email KMankerSeale@uua.org.

Newsletter Submissions? Please?

If you are interested in being the new editor, let me know about that too.

However, as this is my last newsletter- I am not bringing home any back issues from this con. Let me know if you want any from the past 2 years, and I'll set them aside for you before I dump the big box right in the middle of the social hall or something and unload.

THANK YOU!!

» CSD searchation
hey all, I'm on the search committee here in the CMWD for a new Congregational Services Director, and basically I wanted to get people's opinions on what they think a CSD needs.
the real short version of what a CSD does is:
Committed to anti-oppression and justice, Congregational Services supports the health, growth and transformation of congregations and individuals in fulfilling their mission.
The UUA's Congregational Services support the health and growth of congregations and other Unitarian Universalist communities.

please let me know either here or via e-mail (justinethekillerbunny@gmail.com)

thanks so much, keep in mind that there are a few other districts in search of a new CSD so thinking about this could be a good idea even if you aren't in the CMWD area.

peace and love,
Justine.

» Update from LG
I don't know how many camp kids read this thing, but I just wanted to let you know, Burt is definitely being razed. We are moving into Oak or Hickory. They are nicer, but smaller. Also, there will be 10 people per room. Its on main campus, so we will be in front of everyone. I've toured the building, so ask any questions you might have. Also, I will be taking pictures of Burt, and will have 'em up soon.
